My Dear Old Snail

I like some watercolor paintings more than others. I really like the following ones from John Nash (1893-1977).

Misbourne Valley, Chalfont St. Peter (1915).

French Landschape (1918).

Winter Afternoon (1945).

P.S. These watercolors are from book Lambirth, 'John Nash. Artist and Countryman' (2019). It arrived yesterday with snailmail from the UK.

P.P.S. He also made illustrations for books.

'Selbourne Church from the Lithe' in 'The Natural History of Selbourne'  (1972).

Shades in Green

Cézanne (1839-1906) on the banks of Lac d'Annecy (France) in 1896.

The same spot in a picture.

P.S I wrote before about Cézanne (Frozen? in 2010) and Lac d'Annecy (Composition in 2011).

Brightness

In the recent years only for a couple of days each year I am able, in The Netherlands, to enjoy walking in the snow. Progress is slow. What I enjoy most of all is the cold wind and brightness of the light.
