Before Benincasa

Is this island Santiago on the Fra Mauro Map of the World made in 1459?

Wrote blogpost 'Before Benincasa': here.

I'm Blowin the Day

What a perfect day for a daydream. Sun. You. Dreams of the past. Dreaming of what could be. Above all: you.

Before That Point

Around thirty. I guess I was thirty years old when I realized and accepted mentally - and physically as well - that I had to be out of control, to be in control of my life. Before that point in my life I always wanted to read today's newspaper completely. Check out all my e-mails. Finish all my work. Finish every book I started reading. It annoyed me immensely to see loose tiles in the pavement.

And since then? Since then I realize that nothing is perfect. That nothing ever will be perfect. Since then I go with the flow. Life is fleeting and will always fleet. My life. Life of 'homo sapiens'. Life of tree roots.

Makes Me Happy

Started a new project in a blog: Cape Verde Maps.

I don't have time for it but I'll do it anyway. It makes me happy :)

There is never a perfect moment to gain a lover. Or to loose one. There is never a perfect moment to read a new book, start a new blog or project. I am an Epicurean on this: step by step. Little steps if I have to. It makes me happy to collect maps, before 1975, of Cabo Verde and puzzle on them.

Starry Night

Unless

End of Time? Planet Earth without species 'homo sapiens'?

I can imagine an Earth without our species on it. But it won't be true in reality for the next 5 billion years. (After that our Sun will turn into a Red Giant and life on Earth will be impossible.) I am very optimistic about our survival. Who can beat us - unless we kill ourselves? The species that is able to invent 'Mäusenplatten' (Miischplatta, Plaana or Stadelbeine) or 'Staddle stones'. Stones that keep mouses, rats and other vermin out of the food stocks.
